We are coming into the final weeks of Taryn’s first pregnancy, our baby is finally on her way home! I just wanted to share a few things about this crazy time, for future generations sake.
Lucky for us, Taryn does not have any “weird” cravings, although some are strange for her. Taryn has eaten more cereal during this pregnancy than she has in the last 5 years! I also find myself going to Jimmy Johns a few times a week, the #17 – “Ultimate Porker” seems to hit the spot for her. Last, but certainly not least, is a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. We have a McDonald’s about 3/4 of a mile from our house, which is where we mainly get the ice cream cones from. On special days, we drive on down to Dairy Queen and get a twist cone dipped in chocolate as well.
Taryn is getting super uncomfortable these days, she is ready for the due date to come, just to get some relief from so much going on inside. Baby Tatum seems to get so restless at times, oddly though, Taryn says she has been getting better sleep than she used to. I attribute it to the fact her body is doing so much work growing that baby.
Taryn and I have both had our moments of anxiety, and over completely different things. I am most scared about the birthing process, I have not been to hospitals or doctors very much in my life, so I have a little bit of anxiety when it comes to medical stuff. (Not to mention how queasy I can get at the sight of open wounds). Taryn is most worried about being a mom, being able to handle the demands that come from caring for a little one 24/7. I don’t blame her, it is overwhelming to think about. The great part of our anxieties is we balance each other out. When I am a little worried, she calms me, and vice-versa.
All in all we are excited to have Tatum Faye join us in our home; we both look forward to the many thing we will learn and rejoice in doing with our daughter.
